Aus Wissenschaft und Forschung / TAE-Plenarvorträge 28 Tribologie + Schmierungstechnik · 67. Jahrgang · 4/ 2020 Introduction The Society of Tribologists and Lubrication Engineers (STLE), is one of the largest professional societies in the field of tribology and lubrication engineering, which serves more than 15,000 industry professionals worldwide. STLE is a non-profit technical society whose members encompass the academic, government and business community. STLE’s mission is to advance the science of tribology and the practice of lubrication engineering in order to foster innovation, improve the performance of equipment and products, conserve resources and protect the environment. STLE has published two previous reports (2014 and 2017) on trends and issues for their members and the tribology and lubrication engineering community. STLE will soon be releasing the 2020 Report on Emerging Issues and Trends in Tribology and Lubrication Engineering. These reports represent the outcome of extensive multiphase research efforts. These reports, and the research effort behind them, encompass the global opinions and experiences of nearly 1,000 tribologists and lubrication engineers who participated in the research as advisors and editors. This presentation will highlight some of the most important trends and issues found in the 2020 Report on Emerging Issues and Trends in Tribology and Lubrication Engineering.
